Terms of Service — Recall Tracker

By using Recall Tracker (the "Service"), whether directly or through Meta's Muse, you agree to these terms.

What the Service does

Recall Tracker lets you track products you own and notifies you if a tracked product later appears in a public product-recall database (currently the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's SaferProducts data). If you add a return-window or warranty end date, it also reminds you shortly before that date. It's an information and reminder tool.

What the Service is not

  • Not legal, safety, or regulatory advice. We tell you when a product you've tracked appears to match a public recall notice. We don't verify the recall applies to your specific unit, and we don't advise you on what to do about it beyond pointing you to the recall notice itself.

  • Not a substitute for official recall notices. Always check the manufacturer's or CPSC's own recall notice for the authoritative details and remedy.

  • Not a guarantee of completeness. We rely on public recall data sources. A product not flagged by the Service is not a guarantee that it hasn't been recalled — sources can lag, and matching isn't perfect.

  • Not a check on retailer policies. Return-window reminders use the date you enter. We don't verify it against a retailer's policy, and we don't contact retailers on your behalf.

Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when you sign up.

  • You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.

  • You may only track products you own or are responsible for; don't use the Service to track or monitor someone else's property without their knowledge.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

  • Attempt to access another user's data or account.

  • Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service.

  • Use automated means to extract data from the Service beyond normal use through Muse or the Service's own interface.

Fees

The core Service — tracking items and receiving recall alerts — is free. If we introduce a paid tier in the future, we'll clearly disclose pricing before you're charged, and any billing will happen through Ava Research LLC's own site, never through Meta.

Availability

We aim to keep the Service running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, and rarely, the Service may be unavailable without advance notice.

Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, misuse, or abuse of the Service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ava Research LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to a missed or delayed recall notification. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
