Privacy Policy — JobCheck

Ava Research LLC · Last updated: October 29, 2026

This policy covers JobCheck (the "Service"), a connector that checks a job's pricing — arithmetic, missing cost categories, a margin below floor, and a comparison against your own past similar jobs — entirely through conversation with Muse. It applies whether you use the Service directly or through Meta's Muse.

What we store, and why

  • Account ID: an internal ID from your sign-in, used to keep your checks separate from everyone else's. Sign-in is handled by Microsoft Entra External ID with a one-time code sent to your email — there is no password, and it asks for nothing but your email address. The Service itself never stores your email address.

  • Your check records: the job's numbers you paste (the full text), your target margin percentage, a snapshot of the job's total and a few keywords from its line descriptions (used only for the past-job-outlier comparison), and the verdict and flag counts JobCheck computed. The flags and corrections themselves aren't stored separately — a later "fix it" call recomputes them from the same stored text each time.

  • Your voice profile: a tone preference (friendly, professional, or firm) and, optionally, a sample message, used only to shape a corrected draft — stored only if you explicitly set one.

  • Entitlement record: your plan status (free or Pro) and renewal date, if you upgrade. No payment card or bank details are ever stored by JobCheck — those are held entirely by Stripe, our payment processor, under its own privacy terms.

What we don't collect

The Service only stores the fields above. We don't ask for or store payment card or bank account numbers, government ID numbers, precise location, or health information. We never read or store anything from Itemize's own stored quotes — JobCheck has no access to that data at all.

Permissions Muse asks for

One permission, JobCheck.ReadWrite: it lets Muse check a job's pricing, get the full correction, set your voice, and manage your plan on your behalf.

How we use it

  • To check the job's numbers you paste and return a verdict.

  • To compare a job's total against your own past checked jobs, when you have enough history for that comparison to mean anything.

  • To generate the full correction and a corrected draft, for Pro accounts.

  • To activate and track your Pro entitlement, via Stripe.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • You, through your own account.

  • Meta's Muse, if you connect it, acting on your behalf with the permission above.

  • Stripe, for payment processing only, if you upgrade to Pro.

  • Service providers that host and run the Service (Microsoft Azure, East US 2 region) and handle sign-in (Microsoft Entra External ID), bound by their own security and confidentiality commitments.

  • No one else. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or data brokers — and we never share it with Itemize or any other connector.

How we protect it

Your account data is isolated by account — no one else's sign-in can read your checks. Access to the underlying systems is limited to what each part of the Service needs to do its job, and administrative access is limited to Ava Research LLC personnel who need it to operate the Service.

Data retention

Check records, your voice profile, and your plan record are kept until you delete your data.

Delete your data

Deletion is self-service — ask Muse directly, no email required: "Delete all my JobCheck data." This permanently removes every check, your voice profile, and your plan record, in one operation. This can't be undone. Disconnecting JobCheck from Muse stops Muse's access but doesn't delete your data — use self-service deletion first if you want it gone.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, make a reasonable effort to notify active users.
